I have noticed that people who stay in a desert invariably wear beautiful, bright and colorful clothing. Whether that helps them to keep their spirits up or to stand out against the arid monotonous background, I am not sure, but these people have always fascinated me.

“Chit-chat” is all about friends getting together and generally having a laugh over anything and everything. I have tried to depict this moment through my favorite subject- Indian desert dwellers.

I have tried to give it some texture using gesso, texture paste and butter paper. This is on stretched canvas and can be hung as is.

I am an engineer by education, IT professional by occupation but an artist by choice. I have an engineering degree and several years of experience in the corporate world, which I quit to follow my life long passion of creating art. I am a self taught artist with an extreme passion to create artwork using various media. I am inspired by everything around me and my expertise is in the usage of a wide range of colors and textures. My artworks have also been displayed successfully in various exhibitions in India as well as internationally (Singapore, Malaysia, Hungary,USA) and has been featured in the upcoming artist section in Better Interior Magazine in November 2010.
