Alix Hallman Travis, “Finale”, Oil on canvas, 24×40 in., $1,875. 2010. At a square dance in the mountains I was surprised by the final maneuver of each square, all at the same moment–all the members of each square rush to the middle raise their arms and shout” hurrah”! and the dance is over. The dancers in this painting are finishing their dance under the moon.
I have used the palette knife to add strokes of paint to add to the activity depicted.
