Dawn Lee has been surrounded by art since childhood, as both her mother and father were artists. Creative processes were always an integrated part of life and maintaining the connection between experience and art is one of her primary concerns. Being an avid lover of the outdoors, nature is the inspiration for her artwork. She has exhibited internationally, nationally, and throughout the New York area. Ms. Lee has lived and worked on Long Island since 1990. She is from Colorado where she received her BFA in printmaking, and moved to Brooklyn, NY to study painting at Pratt Institute of Art. Later she received her MFA from Long Island University. Ms. Lee is a professor and chair of the art department at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, NY, Artist-in-Residence Coordinator for Fire Island National Seashore, and an independent curator.
