Artist Statement:
The work is product of the way in which I view the world, and also the way I see myself. It is self-conscious and self-critical to a highly specific aesthetic, and feel. The process is aggressive and the work reflects a strong tension between two opposing forces. I reproduce a familiar depth in darkness; though in the prevailing light are unimagined joys, and the palpable bliss of pure freedom.
It is art meant for a place with fewer, or looser rules. It intends to be most unique and the work cares not of precedent. Though playful, it remains fiercely independent.
The work requires an acute sense of design, and the uncanny ability to structure chaos. The act provides an outlet of expression otherwise unattainable in my life.
In essence, I retreat to my dream world in order to create my dream world, so that I may then live in my dream world.
