I have noticed that people who stay in a desert invariably wear beautiful, bright and colorful clothing. Whether that helps them to keep their spirits up or to stand out against the arid monotonous background, I am not sure, but these people have always fascinated me. "Chit-chat" is all about friends getting together and generally having a laugh over anything and everything. I have tried to depict this moment through my favorite subject- Indian desert dwellers. I have tried to give it some texture using gesso, texture paste and butter paper. This is on stretched canvas and can be hung as is. -

In this artwork, I have used the traditional Indian motifs to accentuate the beauty of the Indian bulls. Using molding paste, I have created a swirly texture background which is my trademark. Bulls form an integral part of the Indian rural life. During a festival in South India, they are decorated and worshiped. This is part of a series on friendships. "Little Black Dresses" is a composition of three dancing women all in shimmering light that reveals the various shades of black: green, blue, purple but all the little black "coctail dress". The gyrations of the dancers makes the viewer feel the beat. The artist applies her paint with the palette brush giving the whole a moasic effect.

I saw somewhere “Wake up, drink coffee and be awesome!”. Doesn’t everyone believe it to be true. A coffee makes everything better especially in the morning when you need to get ready to face what the rest of the day brings your way. Every coffee shop that you pass by, you will see sad, exhausted faces looking longingly at their cup to get the instant boost. I have tried to capture the view of a lady with a cup of her favorite brew through the glass windows of the shop. I have used acrylic and bubble wrap imprints on deli paper to get some texture. This is framed with a black floating frame! -
